Joshua Liberman, MD, FACC

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Joshua Liberman is a preventive cardiologist with over 20 years of experience helping his patients live healthier lives. During his career, Dr. Liberman has seen the impact that cardiac disease prevention has had on his patients. Therefore, he decided to start his own practice with an emphasis on preventive cardiology. He enjoys being able to work closely with his patients, taking the time to listen and understand their personal health challenges, and then working to educate them on the best heart health practices and how to start and sustain them.

He received his medical degree from Boston University and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Chicago Medicine. He then continued his medical training with a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, and a second fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology, and is a Diplomate in Clinical Lipidology.

Dr. Liberman started his professional medical career in 2008 when he joined the Columbia-St. Mary's Community Physicians group. He quickly earned the trust of patients across the Greater Milwaukee region. Throughout his 14 year tenure at Columbia-St.Mary's Hospitals, he was Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation program and later promoted to Chief of the Section of Cardiology at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital from 2012 - 2016. In this position of leadership, he unified the practices of several independent doctors into one cohesive group with shared goals. He also established the Women’s Heart Secrets Program. As Medical Director for this specialized program, he was able to raise awareness and treat the unique heart challenges women face throughout their life, including the significant transitions of pregnancy and menopause.

Dr. Liberman is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Past President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Plant-Based Nutrition Organization of Wisconsin which works to educate, empower and support individuals open to improving their health through an evidence-based, whole food, plant-based diet. He has been an invited speaker throughout his career with a focus on topics such as the effects of lifestyle on health, and the medical management of various heart conditions.

As a reflection of expertise, leadership and patients' experience, Dr. Liberman has been consistently listed as a "Top Doc" by Milwaukee Magazine.

With a passion for preventive heart care, Dr. Liberman continues his mission to make a difference in the lives of patients at Wisconsin Cardiology Associates, an independent/private practice in Milwaukee’s North Shore.
